GRS History

In 1938, A.G. Gabriel Company began providing actuarial consulting services to benefit plans. The company was incorporated in 1962 into its present form and became Gabriel, Roeder, Smith & Company (GRS). In 1995, GRS merged with Kruse, O'Connor & Ling - a Florida based consulting firm. In 2001, GRS acquired Watson Wyatt's U.S. based public sector retirement practice and a group of Watson Wyatt's consultants and actuaries joined GRS.

Since its inception, GRS has placed special emphasis on services to the public sector. GRS’ client base includes more than 800 public sector agencies. A trusted partner to its clients, GRS brings innovative, practical solutions to the challenges faced by benefit plans and plan sponsors.
